A B2B marketing agency does not sell visibility. It sells qualified meetings: conversations with decision makers who have a need, at the moment they have it. Everything else, views, followers, impressions, is a means or an excuse. Here is what a B2B marketing agency (or a LinkedIn marketing agency, which is often the same offer) must do for you, the questions to ask before signing, and the signs that say it is not doing it.
What it must bring
A target in situation. Not "mid-market SaaS," but the companies living the situation that triggers your offer: they are hiring, raising, launching, opening a site, changing leadership. An agency that cannot name that situation will spend wide and reach nobody.
Proof before prospecting. A B2B decision maker does not answer a stranger. The agency must first build the proof: client cases, recommendations, reference content, a film that shows how you work. Then prospect.
Content that answers what decision makers type. Every question asked in your sales calls is searched on Google by decision makers who do not know you. The agency should identify them and answer, page by page.
A chain measured end to end. From first impression to meeting to contract, every step counted. An agency reporting views and not meetings is not measuring what matters.
A LinkedIn marketing agency: what it can and cannot do
It can run the situation watch, write and schedule, warm up a network, and set up outreach sequences. It cannot be the founder. On LinkedIn the founder's account carries ten times the company page, and a ghostwritten feed that sounds like every other feed gets ignored. The right arrangement: the founder gives forty minutes a week of real material (a decision, a lesson, a client situation), the agency shapes and publishes it, the founder answers the comments.
The questions to ask before signing
What precise situation triggers a purchase with my customers, in your view? Which three B2B clients of yours can I call the founder of? How do you define a qualified meeting, and how many did you produce for a comparable client? Who at your agency does the work daily? What do you do in the first three months if nothing comes? A serious agency answers all five plainly; one that answers "awareness" to each does not do B2B.
The signs it is time to leave
It reports impressions and followers. It publishes the same content as for its other clients with your logo on it. It prospects cold with no proof. It has never spoken to one of your clients. Its recommendation changes at every meeting. After six months, your sales conversations have not increased.
The film in a B2B chain
Between the outreach and the meeting there is doubt. A film that shows your team at work, your places, the way you speak to a client, lifts it in two minutes. It is the piece a B2B marketing agency should ask you for first. Studio FLF makes these corporate films for that moment, with real people and real words.
If the film is missing from your chain, tell us about your clients and what triggers the sale.
